Summary
Sauna Pal works without an account. Core timer data, preferences and guest history are stored on your device. If you choose email-code sign-in, completed sessions and a custom routine can be backed up to the app’s Supabase project. Sauna Pal does not include advertising, and the reviewed app source does not transmit analytics events to an external analytics service.
Data stored on your device
Local app data may include the active timer state, routine timing and name, completed session history, check-in feeling and difficulty, warning responses, sound and haptic preferences, and authentication session data if you sign in. A recovery copy may be kept locally when an unreadable active timer is reset. The app also maintains a temporary, capped in-memory diagnostic event list; it is not transmitted by the reviewed source.
Optional account and backup
Sauna Pal uses Supabase for optional email-code authentication and cloud backup. If you sign in, the service processes your email address, account identifier and authentication session. Signed-in backup can include completed-session dates and durations, routine details, check-in feeling and difficulty, warning status, and related record identifiers and update times.
Guest data and signed-in data are separate. Guest history is not uploaded automatically when you sign in. Active timer state stays on the original device.
Feedback and support
The in-app feedback form requires sign-in. Sending it shares your message, account identifier and account email with Sauna Pal support. The reviewed form does not attach the app’s diagnostic event list or full session history. If you contact us by email, your email provider and ours process the message and delivery information.
Notifications and device features
Sauna Pal asks for notification permission when you start a native app session so it can schedule local timer alerts. It also uses local audio and haptic features when enabled. The reviewed source does not register a push-notification token or upload one to the Sauna Pal backend.
Service providers
Supabase provides authentication, database and server-function services. Expo services may deliver application updates. Apple provides the iOS platform, App Store distribution and device notification system. These providers may process technical service information under their own terms and privacy notices. Email-code delivery and direct support email also rely on configured email providers.
Retention
Local data remains on your device until you remove it, delete the app, or use an applicable in-app action. Account-backed sessions, routines and feedback remain while needed to provide backup and support, unless deleted through the account flow or a verified request, subject to provider security logs and backup cycles.
Account deletion
Signed-in users can start account deletion in Settings after explicit confirmation. The reviewed deletion function attempts to remove in-app support tickets linked to the account, revoke authentication sessions and delete the account. The app then removes signed-in local history, routine and preference keys after the server confirms deletion. Guest data and direct support emails are separate and are not automatically deleted by that flow.
If you cannot use the in-app flow, contact us. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you before acting on a request. Never email a password or sign-in code.
